Here’s the Deal

This weblog is almost ready to fly (or sink like a huge lead Zeppelin), so I think a couple of words of explanation are in order. I moved to escape two things: my own lethagy, and comment/ referrer spam.
The second item there is the easier to explain. To comment spammers, an inactive blog is tantamount to an invitation to leave comments on the older posts, in the hopes that some poor soul who hasn’t had their fill of dodgy medicines, penis enlargement programmes, and pr0n will click on their myriad links. Textpattern, the program behind the blog on the root directory, doesn’t handle comment spam well; WordPress, the engine that drives this baby, apparently does. We’ll see.
My own lethagy has a number of causes, from illness to industry. I have noticed that I have been keeping my mouth closed (fingers inactive?) more and more about various different topics. Some would say I have shown some restraint; others would call it cowardice. Whatever it is, some of my silence is unnecessary. There are, of course, things I cannot post on an open blog, but there are some things I still want to write about. And I will.
