Mythbusters Challenges
Published Tuesday 8th May, 2007 by Skrik
Ten myths the Mythbusters will never attempt to bust:
- You can boil a living frog if you place it in cold water and heat it gently.
- Drying a poodle in the microwave will cause the animal to explode.
- It is possible to survive a fall from an aircraft if your parachute fails to deploy.
- ‘Long pig’ is so called because human flesh tastes like pork.
- Some martial arts practitioners are able, through effective meditation, to parry sword blows with their bare arms.
- Intake of some recreational drugs will cause you to believe you can fly.
- Hanging will cause ejaculation prior to death.
- Prolonged exposure to pornography turns men off real sex.
- A powerful enough water-pistol will take your eye out, if you take a direct hit.
- Semen in the eye will sting or burn.
Even if they did try to bust these myths, they’d never air the results.

Re: #3, you might be interested in this site. They’ve got plenty of interesting survival stories recorded and even mention a Mythbusters experiment (though with a dummy) on that main page.
Hmm… How about replacing that one with the myth of victims of the guillotine retaining consciousness after execution?
If you wish!
They did a variant of #3 with the myth that an explosion will cushion a fall. They also did a variant of #5 with catching a sword strike between your hands. Both times they used dummies and/or ballistics gel.
About the rest, I think you’re correct.
Yeahbut. In #5 I was thinking of actually parrying a sword-blow with the forearm, which I doubt they will ever attempt.
